ANRM to put new perimeters up for auction
The National Authority for Mineral Resources (ANRM) will put up for auction 36 perimeters for oil and natural gas exploitations, of which 28 onshore and eight perimeters offshore in the Black Sea, each of them of about 1,000 square kilometres. According to ANRM “the process of drawing up the documentation for the 11th Round of tendering is unfolding. Our institution is drawing up the list of oil perimeters to be included in the public offer, following that is approved by order of the ANRM president and published by the Official Monitor and the EU Journal respectively. We intend to include in the offer some 28 onshore perimeters and eight offshore oil exploring and exploiting perimeters in the Romanian territorial waters of the Black Sea.”
Currently, Romania has 59 agreements for oil licensing perimeters for exploration, development and exploitation. Works are in various stages aiming at exploring and exploiting oil and natural gas resources. Ten of the perimeters are operated by US companies or have American shareholders, two of them are operated by Gazprom, while another two are operated by a Romanian-American-Russian joint-venture.
