Mining and oil royalties collected in 2013

The Romanian state collected last year mining and oil royalties in amount of 1.408 billion RON, most of them coming from the two main domestic producers Romgaz and OMV Petrom, ANRM informs. “In 2013, on the basis of Mining Law 85/2003, the royalties collected amounted to 182.3 million RON, while on the basis of Petroleum Law 238/2004 the royalties collected amounted to 1.226 billion RON, of which OMV Petrom paid 796 million RON and Romgaz paid 239 million RON. The total amount of royalties collected in 2012 reached 1.413 billion RON, of which 1.197 billion RON royalties according to the Oil Law and 216.01 million RON according to the Mining Law, ANRM further informs. According to estimates, during 2014, ANRM is anticipating an increase of royalties collected in accordance with the Petroleum Law. By the end of the year the calculus for royalties collected from active companies in the field of oil and gas is to be modified.
