Chevron gets second exploring license

Chevron Romania Exploration and Production recently obtained the second license for exploration in Vaslui County, issued by the Vaslui County Council. The license is valid for Puiesti area and the well is to be placed 1.4 km away from the nearest locality, 300 metres away from Tutova Stream. The surface is of about two hectares.

Chevron Romania has already obtained one year ago three environment agreements in Vaslui County, following public debates, for exploring shale gas reserves in Silistea - Pungesti, Paltinis - Bacesti and Popeni - Gagesti. Chevron has also got in April a new urbanism certificate for placing an exploring well for shale gas in Urdesti village. The four-hectare land in Urdesti, Dodesti Commune, is the fifth field licensed in Vaslui County.

For Silistea and Puiesti, Chevron has got exploration licenses issued by Vaslui County Council in October 2013 and April 2014 respectively. In Silistea, after four months of preparing the drilling platform, the exploration well has been placed in vertical position.
