E.ON sales on the decrease

E.ON Romania group’s turnover reached last year 4.65 billion RON (almost 1 billion Euros), on the decrease against 2012, said Frank Hajdinjak, CEO with E.ON Romania. The natural gas and electric power delivered last year amounted to 29.4 TWh, some 13 percent down against the previous year. In 2012 E.ON Romania had reported a consolidated turnover of 5.2 billion RON (1.2 billion Euros). Natural gas deliveries have diminished by 15 percent last year and by almost 10 percent this year. “We are supplying gas mainly to SMEs which are facing difficulties due to the liberalization schedule. More and more companies go bankrupt. The government is supporting only the big companies, but reality points to the fact that all consumers have reduced their demand. Hence I support the idea of postponing the liberalization,” the E.ON Romania representative said.

Although anticipations regarding the turnover this year reveal a growing trend, having in view the market liberalization process, the tendency is counter-balanced by diminishing volumes, Hajdinjak further said. The E.ON Romania CEO added that theft damages from electric power networks reached 22 million RON.

The E.ON Romania profit was in 2013 lower than the one in 2012, but Frank Hajdinjak didn’t want to elaborate on the issue.
