OMV Petrom new modernizations

OMV Petrom has invested 18 million Euros in modernizing a fuel storage facility in Bacau area. The investment is part of a program aimed at modernizing the fuel storage infrastructure, including the building of three new facilities and modernizing other four, an OMV Petrom release informs.

The other three fuel storage facilities are placed in Jilava, Brazi and Isalnita. During the last five years OMV Petrom has invested approx. 100 million Euros in modernizing the four fuel storage facilities. All four are fully automated and comply with Romanian and European norms and standards in the field, the communiqué reads. Their capacities amount to 65,000 cubic metres (Jilava 27,000 c. m., Brazi 8,000 c. m., Isalnita 11,000 c. m. and Bacau 19,000 c. m.).

Petroleum products in the Bacau terminal are stored in reservoirs above the ground which are equipped with automated systems to measure volume and temperature, automated system for protection against over-filling and fixed fire extinguisher system. The Bacau fuel storage facility is endowed with vapour recovery units to minimize hydrocarbon emissions, used waters collecting systems, fire extinction systems with automatic alarm and alert devices and a system for automatic control and technological process administration, as well as of the entire activity in the facility.
