Vikoil opens branch in Romania
Ukrainian company Vikoil Ltd from Kyiv, specialised in underground and 2D and 3D seismic prospection, has opened a branch in Romania, the only one abroad. It is aiming business in the field of onshore and offshore prospection for hydrocarbons, natural gas and oil, mainly from unconventional sources. For 2015 Vikoil Ltd wants to win at least three auctions for prospection.
The company was set up in 2003 by businessman Sergey Ushinskiy, has 300 personnel and carried operations in the Middle East, Russia, North Africa and Latin America, especially for shale gas prospects. It is one of the largest companies in this field in Ukraine. The subsidiary in Romania is based in Bucharest and is run by Volodymyr Gryshanenko.
