Romgaz profit up in 2014

Natural gas producer Romgaz registered last year a profit of RON 1.43 billion (EUR 322 million), up by 44 percent as against 2013, while the turnover increased by 15.3 percent to RON 4.49 billion (EUR 1.01 billion). Sales increase was influenced by the growing deliveries of natural gas and prices, by higher charges for storage and by supplementation of the electricity supplied, as well as by higher the volume of specific services in the electricity sector. Spending on investments stood at RON 1.08 billion, up by 27.97% against the level in 2013. On the other hand, investment incomes fell by 36.14% to RON 78.7 million, as compared to RON 123.3 million in 2013, as a result of the decrease of both the percentage rates of interest payable on the availability of cash placed in bank deposits, and of the interests cashed for the government bonds held by the company. Last year, Romgaz produced 5.66 billion cubic meters of natural gas and registered (by September 30) a share of 47.4 percent of domestic gas sales.
