Rafo Onesti refinery, ready for reorganization

Rafo Onesti requested the Environmental Protection Agency Bacau for the environmental agreement on the draft for the demolition of several constructions and for the related dismantling of equipment and installations. It is about 14 construction and CT-RV equipment inside the refinery. According to the company’s image adviser, Ion Marian, it is not about the equipment under conservation that could be restarted at any time. Rafo’s majority shareholder, Yakov Goldovskyi, has recently announced that he is preparing ‘the Strategy for production reorganization, for upgrading and expanding Rafo by 2018’, which aims to modernize and to restart the catalytic cracker complex and the coking equipments, aiming to profitably process the naphtha oil delivered from Russia (up to 1.2 million tons per year) and the Romanian gas condensate (up to 250,000 tonnes year) in Euro 5 quality light products and coke. Yakov Goldovskyi also mentioned that the intention to cut down some of the installations to sell them as scrap is targeting only the old and unused part of the refining complex and by their exploitation the current expenditures of the company, which employs over 400 people, would be covered.
